PaleBlue has released version 2.2 of the ROV Trainer Simulator. This major update introduces a wide range of new features, including additional ROV models, Launch and Recovery System (LARS) support, handheld Windows PC compatibility, and a completely new above-water environment.

The ROV lineup has been significantly expanded with support for three new vehicles: the Blue Robotics BlueROV2, Deep Trekker Revolution, and Chasing M2. These join the Triton XLX and Saab Seaeye Falcon, which were already supported.

For users of the Industrial and Enterprise editions, the simulator now includes full Launch and Recovery System (LARS) functionality. Operators can launch and recover the ROV using a LARS, reflecting a critical part of real-world subsea operations. With this release, the simulator supports the complete operational workflow, from launch to recovery.

Introducing LARS also required a major expansion of the simulation environment. Version 2.2 features an entirely new above-water 3D environment, including the sea surface, vessel, cranes, and the LARS itself, creating a more realistic and immersive training experience.

Another major addition is support for handheld Windows PCs, including devices such as the ASUS ROG Ally, MSI Claw, and similar systems. The simulator can now run on these portable devices, allowing users to practice ROV operations with a control layout that closely resembles a real handheld ROV console.

This is particularly valuable for training with smaller ROVs, many of which are operated using handheld controllers.

The PaleBlue ROV Trainer Simulator is IMCA Class A-ready. Schools and organizations using the simulator can achieve IMCA Class A accreditation by completing the IMCA accreditation process.
